For the next few months we’ll be hiding away in our studio working on a new record. It’ll be weird not playing shows but we’ve already got some things we’re really excited about and can’t wait to get deeper into it. So, If things go quiet, if you don’t hear much from us… that’s a good sign.

We’re back from our EU tour and taking a few days off.
It was an amazing trip! Long-drives and late nights zig-zagging from London to Scandinavia and back again.

FORTRESS EUROPA! THITH EU WINTER TOUR 2011 STARTS FRIDAY

We’re off tomorrow back to the EU to start a two week tour and can not wait!
Heading to a few brand new places this time (first time to Scandinavia!) and back to some of our favorites.

Dear, Paris, after having had one show shut down by the police and almost missing the next when our van fell apart–arriving after a marathon 10+ hour, last minute van swap, race against the clock just in time to play a scattered, shellshocked set–well… we you owe you one.

“Commotion”, the second single off our album is coming out on the 15/16 of November. The 12″ features a non-album edit mix of the track, mixes by the illusive duo Tiger and Woods & DFA’s Capracara AND includes a brand new unreleased track called “Aggravation (La La-La La)”

“She is still, is not still, still is not still” the Photographs of Bill Henson & DANIELS’ Pigeons

When we’re writing songs or working on ideas for things we often keep a lot of reference material most of which is images we find on-line and such. While we were writing ‘Pigeons’ we had kept these photographs from Bill Henson.
More than a few of the tracks on the LP deal with ideas of youth, transience and ambiguity and these amazingly open and suggestive pictures just looked so much like the movie playing in our head.
Funny thing is, we had kind of forgotten about them by the time we made the Pigeons video and although we talked a lot with DANIELS about who the girl in the song was we never mentioned or sent them the images.
But somehow they nailed it.
